Creating an Acrylic Collage
Though collage techniques have been used for thousands of years, Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso coined the term at the beginning of the 20th century due to a popularity surge of collage in modern painting and assemblage. In this class, students will learn how to effectively incorporate textural and collage elements into acrylic paintings to increase visual interest and enhance surface quality. Students will learn to approach their paintings as three-dimensional objects through selecting appropriate textures to describe form and subject.
