Japanese Screens

Japanese Screens

Also called Byobu (translates roughly as protection from the wind), Japanese screens originated in China and were adopted by Japan in the eight century AD. Working in a traditional brush and ink wash technique, students will observe and try their hand at spontaneous mark making for a small scale folding screen.
